crop a dual monitor desktop screencast recording in Linux using mencoder

I used the Linux screencasting software RecordMyDesktop to make a screencast in a dual monitor environment.

Here's how I extracted out the relevant portion of the desktop screencast video.

How to crop a video using mencoder and Linux.

I could not enable RecordMyDesktop to record a screencast of set dimensions of 1900x1000 from 3840x1080 of the total desktop dimension.

I resolved this issue by post processing the resultant screencast video, 3840x1080, using the mencoder software tool.

I extracted the pertinent content dimensions of 1900x1000 at an offset of 1921x10 from the left and from the top or the display of a total size of 3840x1080.

Resizing windows in XFCE 4 is sometimes difficult.

Some XFCE window theme decorations have difficult to grasp, with the mouse pointer, window panel edges.

Use the following keyboard shortcuts to *easily* re-size window panel edges nearest the
mouse pointer.
